Often we are asked what people can DO to help. I am not asking for help specifically, just giving ideas on ways to help for those who would like to.
Here is a link to ways you can donate. Either specifically to Manny's care. Or to other orphans as they wait to be adopted.
Obviously, it costs a lot of money to care for Manny. Thankfully we have very good insurance with very little out of pocket. That is a HUGE relief off our minds. But it's very costly to drive around for his appointments, food while in the hospital, extra day care for the other kids while I'm in the hospital with him, etc.
I often miss many days of work and so does Dan during these long hospital stays as well. It just all adds up.
Next, I am a professional motivational speaker. Periodically I am looking for "gigs". I especially love to do conferences, retreats, etc. and speak about adoption and special needs. I am open to secular and church gigs. My fee can be arranged on a case by case basis. Depends on when, where, etc. But if you know of someone looking for an inspirational talk about life ... here is a little bit more about that. My husband Dan is also available for speaking engagements as well. (Not often people include the Dad's perspective on things.)
Finally, if you are local ... we would love to meet up with you one of these days. I cannot tell you how much of a blessing it is to meet others who have been touched by Manny's story.
